Well, as with all seasons, summer is coming to a close, and this will be my last post for a while, before I slip off for a short vacation sans computers. After Labor Day, work will get frantic as we try to prepare for huge marketing push that will be Microsoft Windows Vista. I plan on setting in motion plans for my new website, the "official" ZILLINOIS.com, and will be doing some hard thinking about just what kind of design and services I'd like the site to have. As I surf around I see lots of interesting page layouts, and you can be that I'll be making the ZILLINOIS site XHTML and CSS compliant.
Well, now on with today's links...

Today's post is dedicated to the man whose name appears on several millions acoustic and electric guitars around the world. Because his work continues to be an inspiration, and also for all the joy his innovation has brought to my life as well as millions of others, today I raise a toast to celebrate the life of Leo Fender. Leo Fender was born on this day in 1909, and with the help of several musicians, and like minded entrepreneurs created a virtual standard in electric guitar design. Fender has become one of a select few household brand names, with regards to musical instruments, and has a presence known around the modern world. In his later years, after selling the company to CBS in 1965 (which eventually was purchased 1985 by a group of employees), he also found "G&L Guitars" with longtime business partner, George Fullerton. Along with inventor Les Paul (of Gibson fame), modern music has been changed forever.
