The Official M.C. Escher Website

We've Been Here Before

"If a man today killed his only son to show how much he loved other people, he would be considered a madman, locked in jail and earn society's contempt." An interesting perspective of the state of the world or belief systems, If you look up the word "truth" in the dictionary, you'll find that most leaders in the modern societies rarely adhere to this, as it doesn't meld with "spin" very well. And it is also a simple fact that all wars have been waged based on one party pushing not "religious beliefs" but personal and morality based beliefs on the other. Let's not joke, this is a serious issue, and a very real self-defeating one at that. To accept the fact that people should have the freedom to believe what they want, you can not then try to dictate their behavior. Since you can not control thier behavior, it becomes very easy for the situation to become non-peaceful. Once something has escalated to becoming a non-peaceful scenario, "only the strong survive", and then it comtinues to move in that never-ending circle, which is where we are today.

Today marks a day in history when 2000 American soldiers and countless other Iraqi & Afghani people have died, and for what: Because of the evnets of 9/11? No. Because of the intolerance of other people ideas and ideals.

From O'Reilly Blogs, some discreet pessimism regarding all the great "WEB 2.0" work that has been happening, which moves perfectly in my never answered question - "Aren't computers supposed to make my life easier?". "Somewhere along the way, the moneychangers had taken over the temple." and "Like it or not, Web 2.0, like Web 1.0, is amoral. It's a set of technologies - a machine, not a Machine - that alters the forms and economics of production and consumption. It doesn't care whether its consequences are good or bad. It doesn't care whether it brings us to a higher consciousness or a lower one. It doesn't care whether it burnishes our culture or dulls it. It doesn't care whether it leads us into a golden age or a dark one. So let's can the millenialist rhetoric and see the thing for what it is, not what we wish it would be." This is a fantastic and pessimistic view of "Web 2.0", and once again asks - "How is the internet (and computers) making mylife any easier?" Rough Type: Nicholas Carr's Blog

Our word fo the day is "vibrant" and it a great word to describe the "father of the electric guitar", Mr. Les Paul. Les Paul releases first rock album at age 90 - MUSIC - MSNBC.com

Wow, I just came across this very informative website featuring a great archive of Fender Amps and the specifications regarding each model, for each year that it was made. I really dig seeing the pictures of all the old Fender amps, especially the "TV front" styles from the late 1940s. The only thing missing was detailed information about the New Fender Custom Shop '57 Twin, which has had me drooling for the last year, since I go the Masterbuilt 1954 Fender Stratocaster 50th Anniversary edition. Anyways, check out the site: The Fender Amp Field Guide

I tried to use the title of the link below, as the title of this blog post, but it was censored by MSN Spaces, as "prohibited". Go fucking figure. Oh and then the actual link: Of mutual masturbation
